Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is a vehicle for the parish to fulfill the pastoral mission of Jesus and the Church in a specific part of the Archdiocese. It does this by developing Catholic identity, promoting evangelization, and fostering stewardship. The Council strives to build a community of disciples who recognize their baptismal calls to lives of holiness, witness and service. It also engages in a continuous process of pastoral planning, which takes into account the needs and priorities of its parishioners, the Archdiocese, the broader community, and the world.

Committees

Buildings & Grounds

The concerns of this committee involve the physical conditions of parish property, its maintenance and upkeep. This subcommittee identifies and articulates the needs of the parish in this area and makes recommendations to the Finance/Administrative Services Committee.

Finance Council

The Finance Council provides advice and guidance to the Pastor in the administration of parish assets. It also prepares the parish budget, any budgets for extraordinary expenditures, and reviews financial statements. In addition, the council monitors the financial condition of the parish, including regular financial reviews/audits as well as the internal financial controls by following the recommendations in those reviews/audits.

Prayer & Worship

The Prayer and Worship Committee nourishes and gives direction to the liturgical aspect of parish life. This Committee ensures that the parishioners are provided with opportunities to deepen their faith through a variety of prayer experiences and liturgical celebrations.

Christian Formation

This role of this committee is to develop parish awareness and responsibility for promotion of the educational/formation aspect of the mission of the Church. Christian Formation is a lifelong process aimed at personal conversion and growth in faith.

This committee is advisory to educational administrator(s) in the design, implementation and evaluation of the total Christian educational/formation programs in the parish, which include: sacramental preparation, adult and family ministry, youth and young adult ministry, parish school and child ministry.

Human Concerns

This committee discerns needs of people in the parish and wider community – especially the poor – and identifies resources to meet those needs enlisting the active cooperation of parish members. The Human Concerns Committee helps to fulfill the justice dimensions of scripture and our church tradition acknowledging that every Christian is called to service and to work for justice.

Stewardship

The Stewardship Committee is responsible for the ongoing stewardship educational efforts of the parish. Members of the committee are faith-filled individuals committed to building a community of prayer and hospitality which welcomes and affirms all gifts. This committee works closely with the other standing committees of the parish to ensure stewardship efforts are consistent and fulfill the parish mission.
